Horsethief Canyon
10-14-15
The trail is a roller-coaster, up-and-down journey with a bias toward the down side.
Be careful of the fine loose rock when heading downhill.
Sturdy hiking boots will help cushion this rocky trail.
After more than 2 miles, look to your left, slightly downhill and off-trail, for the
remains of an old corral made of dried manzanita.
Cowboys once kept their herd penned here because of the water supply at
Horsethief Creek.
A moderate 5-mile hike with a 900 foot elevation gain.
